A survey is an important part
of any Real Estate Transaction. The Tyson Group recommends you hire a licensed
surveyor to survey property before you purchase any property.

Do you need to
have a survey when you purchase real estate in North Carolina?
Yes. Will you be required to have one? Maybe. Regardless of
whether you are required to have a survey or not you should get
one.
A survey by a
registered land surveyor will show the boundries of your
property, the location of your house on the property and any out
buildings on the property. In addition, it should show fences,
decks, and docks, driveways, utility poles. In addition it
should show right of ways and set back boundaries. If there are
any encroachments on the property they should be shown on the
survey. If your property is in a flood zone it should be noted
on the property and we recommend asking the surveyor to indicate
the finish floor elevation on the survey.
